Finnmarksløpet has appointed Ole Sigleif Johansen as its official spokesperson for this year’s event. With extensive experience as a long-distance sled dog musher, mentor, and commentator, he brings both expertise and deep knowledge of the sport.
Ole Sigleif comes from a background in cross-country skiing and cycling, which laid the foundation for his endurance and training philosophy. His journey into sled dog racing began with a year at the Norwegian Armed Forces Dog School, followed by work as a handler for Geir Wang and Stein Johnsen in Nordreisa. Together with Eline Lihagen, he later founded Team Tempo in Mathisdalen, Alta, focusing on innovative training methods inspired by skiing and cycling. His career highlights include NM gold and silver medals, as well as top placements in Finnmarksløpet.
Since 2020, Ole Sigleif has also served as an expert commentator and, for the past three years, has been on the trail during Finnmarksløpet, sharing updates and insights with fans online. As race ambassador, he will provide commentary, analysis, and guidance before, during, and after the race.
We look forward to having Ole Sigleif Johansen on board for this year’s Finnmarksløpet.
