Rabies vaccination will be mandatory for all dogs in all classes participating in Finnmarksløpet 2027, including FL-300.
Vaccination against Leptospirosis is not required, but recommended by IFSS.
Other vaccines according to the Norwegian Sled Dog Association regulations https://www.sleddog.no/next/p/71249/vaksiner-konkurransehund are required for participation in Finnmarksløpet:
- Distemper, parvovirus, and infectious hepatitis.
- Bordetella Bronchiseptica and parainfluenza virus (Pi).
- Rabies
All dogs participating in Finnmarksløpet must be microchipped. It’s the participant’s own responsibility to make sure the microchip works before the Pre-Race check of the dogs. If the microchip doesn’t meet ISO standard 11785 or Annex A to ISO standard 11785, the partcipant must provide the necessary reading equipment at any check.
