We have received several questions about which distances will be included in the World Championship during Finnmarksløpet 2027. Here is a clarification.
The following distances will have World Championship status in long-distance sled dog racing:
- FL-Junior
- FL-600
- FL-1200
FL-600 will be run with 8-dog teams, while FL-1200 will be run with 14-dog teams.
The new distance, FL-300, will not have World Championship status. This is due to the championship class structure, where the 8-dog class is assigned to FL-600. However, FL-300 will still be an important part of Finnmarksløpet 2027.
