Martin Pedersen appointed CEO of Finnmarksløpet
The board of Finnmarksløpet AS has appointed Martin Pedersen as the new CEO. He will assume the position on August 17.
Pedersen brings solid leadership experience from the seafood industry, including roles as Production Manager at Wilsgård Fiskeoppdrett AS and Area Manager at Marine Harvest Norway AS.
As CEO, Pedersen will lead the work of further developing Finnmarksløpet – Europe’s longest and toughest dog sled race, and one of Northern Norway’s largest sporting and cultural events.
“We are very pleased to welcome Martin Pedersen to the team. He has the competence, execution ability, and understanding of collaboration and development that Finnmarksløpet will need in the years ahead,” says Chairman of the Board Knut Sigurd Pettersen.
Finnmarksløpet is entering an important period, including hosting the IFSS World Championships in long-distance dog sledding in 2027.
“Finnmarksløpet holds a unique position, both as a sporting competition and as a regional event. I look forward to getting to know the organization, the volunteers, our partners, and the dog sledding community, and to contributing to the further development of the race,” says Martin Pedersen.
Svanhild Pedersen will serve as Acting CEO until Martin Pedersen takes up the position.
